Southeast Child and Family Services (SECFS) and Shawenim Abinoojii Inc. (SAI) are pleased to host our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser at Larters Golf & Country Club in St. Andrews, Manitoba, on Thursday, September 1st, 2022.

We hosted our 1st Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser in 2021 and proceeds went towards SAI's Memengwaa program, which translates in Anishinaabe to "Butterfly", and offers holistic programming and resources for youth transitioning out of care. Memengwaa currently operates a transitional housing apartment with 18 units and on-site resource supports in

Winnipeg for Southeast First Nations youth transitioning out of care. Last year, we raised $30,000 which went towards basic needs and resources for these youth.
This year SECFS and SAI are once again fundraising to provide the SAI-SECFS Youth Council, comprised of 16 First Nation youth ages 15 to 25 (two representatives from Poplar River, Berens River, Bloodvein, Brokenhead, Little Grand Rapids, Pauingassi, Black River and Hollow Water First Nations) with leadership building and development opportunities.

The Youth Council provides input and feedback with programming aimed towards our children and youth living in and from their community, as well as engaging them as leaders and facilitators in our Summer Day Camps and Family Camps.

The Youth Council are the current leaders of our communities and continue to inspire children in their community to follow in their footsteps. The SAI-SECFS Youth Council and SAI-SECFS Fundraising Golf Tournament planning committee would like to thank you in advance for the consideration and taking the time to read this.
We look forward to seeing you on September 1st, 2022, for tee off!
